Saį¹yojaniyadhammasutta Things Prone to Being Fettered
āSaį¹yojaniye ca, bhikkhave, dhamme desessÄmi saį¹yojanaƱca. āMendicants, I will teach you the things that are prone to being fettered, and the fetter.

Katame ca, bhikkhave, saį¹yojaniyÄ dhammÄ, katamaƱca saį¹yojanaį¹? What are the things that are prone to being fettered? And what is the fetter?
Santi, bhikkhave, cakkhuviƱƱeyyÄ rÅ«pÄ iį¹į¹hÄ kantÄ manÄpÄ piyarÅ«pÄ kÄmÅ«pasaį¹hitÄ rajanÄ«yÄ. There are sights known by the eye, which are likable, desirable, agreeable, pleasant, sensual, and arousing.
Ime vuccanti, bhikkhave, saį¹yojaniyÄ dhammÄ. These are called the things that are prone to being fettered.
Yo tattha chandarÄgo, taį¹ tattha saį¹yojanaį¹ ā¦peā¦ The desire and greed for them is the fetter.
santi, bhikkhave, jivhÄviƱƱeyyÄ rasÄ ā¦peā¦ There are sounds ā¦ smells ā¦ tastes ā¦ touches ā¦
santi, bhikkhave, manoviƱƱeyyÄ dhammÄ iį¹į¹hÄ kantÄ manÄpÄ piyarÅ«pÄ kÄmÅ«pasaį¹hitÄ rajanÄ«yÄ. thoughts known by the mind, which are likable, desirable, agreeable, pleasant, sensual, and arousing.
