UpÄdÄniyadhammasutta Things Prone to Fuel Grasping
āUpÄdÄniye ca, bhikkhave, dhamme desessÄmi upÄdÄnaƱca. āMendicants, I will teach you the things that fuel grasping, and the grasping.

Katame ca, bhikkhave, upÄdÄniyÄ dhammÄ, katamaƱca upÄdÄnaį¹? What are the things that fuel grasping? And what is the grasping?
Santi, bhikkhave, cakkhuviƱƱeyyÄ rÅ«pÄ iį¹į¹hÄ kantÄ manÄpÄ piyarÅ«pÄ kÄmÅ«pasaį¹hitÄ rajanÄ«yÄ. There are sights known by the eye, which are likable, desirable, agreeable, pleasant, sensual, and arousing.
Ime vuccanti, bhikkhave, upÄdÄniyÄ dhammÄ. These are called the things that fuel grasping.
Yo tattha chandarÄgo, taį¹ tattha upÄdÄnaį¹ ā¦peā¦ The desire and greed for them is the grasping.
santi, bhikkhave, jivhÄviƱƱeyyÄ rasÄ ā¦peā¦ There are sounds ā¦ smells ā¦ tastes ā¦ touches ā¦
santi, bhikkhave, manoviƱƱeyyÄ dhammÄ iį¹į¹hÄ kantÄ manÄpÄ piyarÅ«pÄ kÄmÅ«pasaį¹hitÄ rajanÄ«yÄ. ideas known by the mind, which are likable, desirable, agreeable, pleasant, sensual, and arousing.
