Ekaį¹ samayaį¹ bhagavÄ rÄjagahe viharati jÄ«vakambavane. At one time the Buddha was staying near RÄjagaha in JÄ«vakaās Mango Grove.
Tatra kho bhagavÄ bhikkhÅ« Ämantesi ā¦peā¦ There the Buddha addressed the mendicants:
āpaį¹isallÄne, bhikkhave, yogamÄpajjatha. āMendicants, meditate in retreat.
Paį¹isallÄ«nassa, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ okkhÄyati. For a mendicant who meditates in retreat, things become truly clear.
KiƱca yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ okkhÄyati? And what becomes truly clear?
Cakkhuį¹ aniccanti yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ okkhÄyati, rÅ«pÄ aniccÄti yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ okkhÄyati, cakkhuviƱƱÄį¹aį¹ aniccanti yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ okkhÄyati, cakkhusamphasso aniccoti yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ okkhÄyati, yampidaį¹ cakkhusamphassapaccayÄ uppajjati vedayitaį¹ sukhaį¹ vÄ dukkhaį¹ vÄ adukkhamasukhaį¹ vÄ tampi aniccanti yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ okkhÄyati ā¦peā¦ It becomes truly clear that the eye, sights, eye consciousness, and eye contact are impermanent. And it also becomes truly clear that the painful, pleasant, or neutral feeling that arises conditioned by eye contact is impermanent. ā¦
mano aniccoti yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ okkhÄyati, dhammÄ ā¦ It becomes truly clear that the mind, ideas, mind consciousness, and mind contact are impermanent.
