Atha kho aƱƱataro bhikkhu ā¦peā¦ Then a mendicant went up to the Buddha ā¦
etadavoca: and said to him:
ākathaį¹ nu kho, bhante, jÄnato kathaį¹ passato sakkÄyadiį¹į¹hi pahÄ«yatÄ«āti? āSir, how does one know and see so that substantialist view is given up?ā
āCakkhuį¹ kho, bhikkhu, dukkhato jÄnato passato sakkÄyadiį¹į¹hi pahÄ«yati. āMendicant, knowing and seeing the eye, sights, eye consciousness, and eye contact as suffering, substantialist view is given up. ā¦
RÅ«pe dukkhato jÄnato passato sakkÄyadiį¹į¹hi pahÄ«yati.

And also knowing and seeing the pleasant, painful, or neutral feeling that arises conditioned by mind contact as suffering, substantialist view is given up.
