Paį¹­hamahatthapādopamasutta The Simile of Hands and Feet (1st)

ā€œHatthesu, bhikkhave, sati ādānanikkhepanaį¹ paƱƱāyati; ā€œMendicants, when there are hands, picking up and putting down are found.

pādesu sati abhikkamapaį¹­ikkamo paƱƱāyati; When there are feet, coming and going are found.

pabbesu sati samiƱjanapasāraį¹‡aį¹ paƱƱāyati; When there are joints, contracting and extending are found.

kucchismiį¹ sati jighacchā pipāsā paƱƱāyati. When thereā€™s a belly, hunger and thirst are found.

Evameva kho, bhikkhave, cakkhusmiį¹ sati cakkhusamphassapaccayā uppajjati ajjhattaį¹ sukhaį¹ dukkhaį¹ ā€¦peā€¦ In the same way, when thereā€™s an eye, pleasure and pain arise internally conditioned by eye contact.

jivhāya sati jivhāsamphassapaccayā uppajjati ajjhattaį¹ sukhaį¹ dukkhaį¹ ā€¦peā€¦ When thereā€™s an ear ā€¦ nose ā€¦ tongue ā€¦ body ā€¦

manasmiį¹ sati manosamphassapaccayā uppajjati ajjhattaį¹ sukhaį¹ dukkhaį¹ ā€¦peā€¦. mind, pleasure and pain arise internally conditioned by mind contact.
