Sukhasutta Pleasure

ā€œTisso imā, bhikkhave, vedanā. ā€œMendicants, there are these three feelings.

Katamā tisso? What three?

Sukhā vedanā, dukkhā vedanā, adukkhamasukhā vedanāā€”Pleasant, painful, and neutral feeling.

imā kho, bhikkhave, tisso vedanāti. These are the three feelings.

Sukhaį¹ vā yadi vā dukkhaį¹, Whatever is felt

adukkhamasukhaį¹ saha; internally and externallyā€”

AjjhattaƱca bahiddhā ca, whether pleasure or pain

yaį¹ kiƱci atthi veditaį¹. as well as whatā€™s neutralā€”

Etaį¹ dukkhanti Ʊatvāna, having known this as suffering,

mosadhammaį¹ palokinaį¹; deceptive, falling apart,

Phussa phussa vayaį¹ passaį¹, one sees them vanish as theyā€™re experienced again and again:

evaį¹ tattha virajjatÄ«ā€ti. thatā€™s how to be free of desire for them.ā€
