OghapaƱhāsutta A Question About Floods

ā€œā€˜Ogho, oghoā€™ti, āvuso sāriputta, vuccati. ā€œReverend Sāriputta, they speak of this thing called ā€˜a floodā€™.

Katamo nu kho, āvuso, oghoā€ti? What is a flood?ā€

ā€œCattārome, āvuso, oghā. ā€œReverend, there are these four floods.

Kāmogho, bhavogho, diį¹­į¹­hogho, avijjoghoā€”The floods of sensuality, desire to be reborn, views, and ignorance.

ime kho, āvuso, cattāro oghāā€ti. These are the four floods.ā€

ā€œAtthi panāvuso, maggo atthi paį¹­ipadā, etesaį¹ oghānaį¹ pahānāyāā€ti? ā€œBut, reverend, is there a path and a practice for completely understanding these floods?ā€
