āāBhavo, bhavoāti, Ävuso sÄriputta, vuccati. āReverend SÄriputta, they speak of these things called āstates of existenceā.
Katamo nu kho, Ävuso, bhavoāti? What are states of existence?ā
āTayome, Ävuso, bhavÄ. āReverend, there are these three states of existence.
KÄmabhavo, rÅ«pabhavo, arÅ«pabhavoāExistence in the sensual realm, the realm of luminous form, and the formless realm.
ime kho, Ävuso, tayo bhavÄāti. These are the three states of existence.ā
āAtthi panÄvuso, maggo atthi paį¹ipadÄ, etesaį¹ bhavÄnaį¹ pariƱƱÄyÄāti? āBut, reverend, is there a path and a practice for completely understanding these three states of existence?ā
