āSeyyathÄpi, bhikkhave, kumbho anÄdhÄro suppavattiyo hoti, sÄdhÄro duppavattiyo hoti; āA pot without a stand is easy to overturn, but if it has a stand itās hard to overturn.
evameva kho, bhikkhave, cittaį¹ anÄdhÄraį¹ suppavattiyaį¹ hoti, sÄdhÄraį¹ duppavattiyaį¹ hoti. In the same way, a mind without a stand is easy to overturn, but if it has a stand itās hard to overturn.
Ko ca, bhikkhave, cittassa ÄdhÄro? And whatās the stand for the mind?
Ayameva ariyo aį¹į¹haį¹
giko maggo, seyyathidaį¹āIt is simply this noble eightfold path, that is:
sammÄdiį¹į¹hi ā¦peā¦ sammÄsamÄdhi. right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right immersion.
Ayaį¹ cittassa ÄdhÄro. This is the stand for the mind.
