Vedanāsutta Feeling

Sāvatthinidānaį¹. At SāvatthÄ«.

ā€œTisso imā, bhikkhave, vedanā. ā€œMendicants, there are these three feelings.

Katamā tisso? What three?

Sukhā vedanā, dukkhā vedanā, adukkhamasukhā vedanāā€”Pleasant, painful, and neutral feeling.

imā kho, bhikkhave, tisso vedanā. These are the three feelings.

Imāsaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, tissannaį¹ vedanānaį¹ pariƱƱāya ariyo aį¹­į¹­haį¹…giko maggo bhāvetabbo. The noble eightfold path should be developed to completely understand these three feelings.

Katamo ariyo aį¹­į¹­haį¹…giko maggo? What is the noble eightfold path?

Seyyathidaį¹ā€”sammādiį¹­į¹­hi ā€¦peā€¦ sammāsamādhi. It is right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right immersion.

Imāsaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, tissannaį¹ vedanānaį¹ pariƱƱāya ariyo aį¹­į¹­haį¹…giko maggo bhāvetabboā€ti. This noble eightfold path should be developed to completely understand these three feelings.ā€
