Ākāsasutta The Sky

ā€œSeyyathāpi, bhikkhave, ākāse vividhā vātā vāyantiā€”ā€œMendicants, various winds blow in the sky.

puratthimāpi vātā vāyanti, pacchimāpi vātā vāyanti, uttarāpi vātā vāyanti, dakkhiį¹‡Äpi vātā vāyanti, sarajāpi vātā vāyanti, arajāpi vātā vāyanti, sÄ«tāpi vātā vāyanti, uį¹‡hāpi vātā vāyanti, parittāpi vātā vāyanti, adhimattāpi vātā vāyanti; Winds blow from the east, the west, the north, and the south. There are winds that are dusty and dustless, cool and warm, weak and strong.

evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno ariyaį¹ aį¹­į¹­haį¹…gikaį¹ maggaį¹ bhāvayato ariyaį¹ aį¹­į¹­haį¹…gikaį¹ maggaį¹ bahulÄ«karoto cattāropi satipaį¹­į¹­hānā bhāvanāpāripÅ«riį¹ gacchanti, cattāropi sammappadhānā bhāvanāpāripÅ«riį¹ gacchanti, cattāropi iddhipādā bhāvanāpāripÅ«riį¹ gacchanti, paƱcapi indriyāni bhāvanāpāripÅ«riį¹ gacchanti, paƱcapi balāni bhāvanāpāripÅ«riį¹ gacchanti, sattapi bojjhaį¹…gā bhāvanāpāripÅ«riį¹ gacchanti. In the same way, when the noble eightfold path is developed and cultivated the following are fully developed: the four kinds of mindfulness meditation, the four right efforts, the four bases of psychic power, the five faculties, the five powers, and the seven awakening factors.

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu sammādiį¹­į¹­hiį¹ bhāveti ā€¦peā€¦ sammāsamādhiį¹ bhāveti vivekanissitaį¹ virāganissitaį¹ nirodhanissitaį¹ vossaggapariį¹‡Ämiį¹ ā€¦ Itā€™s when a mendicant develops right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right immersion, which rely on seclusion, fading away, and cessation, and ripen as letting go.
