Oghasutta Floods

Sāvatthinidānaį¹. At SāvatthÄ«.

ā€œCattārome, bhikkhave, oghā. ā€œMendicants, there are these four floods.

Katame cattāro? What four?

Kāmogho, bhavogho, diį¹­į¹­hogho, avijjoghoā€”The floods of sensuality, desire to be reborn, views, and ignorance.

ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro oghā. These are the four floods.

Imesaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, catunnaį¹ oghānaį¹ abhiƱƱāya pariƱƱāya parikkhayāya pahānāya ā€¦peā€¦ ayaį¹ ariyo aį¹­į¹­haį¹…giko maggo bhāvetabboā€ti. The noble eightfold path should be developed for the direct knowledge, complete understanding, finishing, and giving up of these four floods.ā€
