ā€œSeyyathāpi, bhikkhave, ye keci pāį¹‡Ä cattāro iriyāpathe kappentiā€”ā€œMendicants, living creatures engage in the four postures:

kālena gamanaį¹, kālena į¹­hānaį¹, kālena nisajjaį¹, kālena seyyaį¹, sabbe te pathaviį¹ nissāya pathaviyaį¹ patiį¹­į¹­hāya evamete cattāro iriyāpathe kappenti; sometimes walking, sometimes standing, sometimes sitting, sometimes lying down. They do so depending on the earth and grounded on the earth.

evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu sÄ«laį¹ nissāya sÄ«le patiį¹­į¹­hāya satta bojjhaį¹…ge bhāveti, satta bojjhaį¹…ge bahulÄ«karoti. In the same way, a mendicant develops and cultivates the seven awakening factors depending on and grounded on ethics.

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu satisambojjhaį¹…gaį¹ bhāveti vivekanissitaį¹ virāganissitaį¹ nirodhanissitaį¹ vossaggapariį¹‡Ämiį¹ ā€¦peā€¦ Itā€™s when a mendicant develops the awakening factors of mindfulness, investigation of principles, energy, rapture, tranquility, immersion,

upekkhāsambojjhaį¹…gaį¹ bhāveti vivekanissitaį¹ virāganissitaį¹ nirodhanissitaį¹ vossaggapariį¹‡Ämiį¹. and equanimity, which rely on seclusion, fading away, and cessation, and ripen as letting go.
