ā€œCatunnaį¹, bhikkhave, satipaį¹­į¹­hānānaį¹ bhāvanaį¹ desessāmi. ā€œMendicants, I will teach you the development of the four kinds of mindfulness meditation.

Katamā, bhikkhave, catunnaį¹ satipaį¹­į¹­hānānaį¹ bhāvanā? And what is the development of the four kinds of mindfulness meditation?

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu kāye kāyānupassÄ« viharati ātāpÄ« sampajāno satimā, vineyya loke abhijjhādomanassaį¹; Itā€™s when a mendicant meditates by observing an aspect of the bodyā€”keen, aware, and mindful, rid of covetousness and displeasure for the world.
