Äsavasutta Defilements
āTayome, bhikkhave ÄsavÄ. āMendicants, there are these three defilements.
Katame tayo? What three?
KÄmÄsavo, bhavÄsavo, avijjÄsavoāThe defilements of sensuality, desire to be reborn, and ignorance.
ime kho, bhikkhave, tayo ÄsavÄ. These are the three defilements.
Imesaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, tiį¹į¹annaį¹ ÄsavÄnaį¹ pahÄnÄya cattÄro satipaį¹į¹hÄnÄ bhÄvetabbÄ. The four kinds of mindfulness meditation should be developed to give up these three defilements.
