āPaƱcimÄni, bhikkhave, indriyÄni. āMendicants, there are these five faculties.
KatamÄni paƱca? What five?
Saddhindriyaį¹ ā¦peā¦ paƱƱindriyaį¹āThe faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom.
imÄni kho, bhikkhave, paƱcindriyÄni. These are the five faculties.
Imesaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, paƱcannaį¹ indriyÄnaį¹ samattÄ paripÅ«rattÄ arahaį¹ hoti, tato mudutarehi anÄgÄmÄ« hoti, tato mudutarehi sakadÄgÄmÄ« hoti, tato mudutarehi sotÄpanno hoti, tato mudutarehi dhammÄnusÄrÄ« hoti, tato mudutarehi saddhÄnusÄrÄ« hotÄ«āti. Someone who has completed and fulfilled these five faculties is a perfected one. If they are weaker than that, theyāre a non-returner. If they are weaker still, theyāre a once-returner. If they are weaker still, theyāre a stream-enterer. If theyāre weaker still, theyāre a follower of teachings. If theyāre weaker still, theyāre a follower by faith.ā
