2. Mudutaravagga 2. Weaker

Dutiyasaį¹…khittasutta In Brief (2nd)

ā€œPaƱcimāni, bhikkhave, indriyāni. ā€œMendicants, there are these five faculties.

Katamāni paƱca? What five?

Saddhindriyaį¹ ā€¦peā€¦ paƱƱindriyaį¹ā€”The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom.

imāni kho, bhikkhave, paƱcindriyāni. These are the five faculties.

Imesaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, paƱcannaį¹ indriyānaį¹ samattā paripÅ«rattā arahaį¹ hoti, tato mudutarehi anāgāmÄ« hoti, tato mudutarehi sakadāgāmÄ« hoti, tato mudutarehi sotāpanno hoti, tato mudutarehi dhammānusārÄ« hoti, tato mudutarehi saddhānusārÄ« hoti. Someone who has completed and fulfilled these five faculties is a perfected one. If they are weaker than that, theyā€™re a non-returner ā€¦ a once-returner ā€¦ a stream-enterer ā€¦ a follower of teachings ā€¦ a follower by faith.

Iti kho, bhikkhave, indriyavemattatā phalavemattatā hoti, phalavemattatā puggalavemattatāā€ti. So from a diversity of faculties thereā€™s a diversity of fruits. And from a diversity of fruits thereā€™s a diversity of persons.ā€
