Sotāpannasutta A Stream-Enterer

ā€œChayimāni, bhikkhave, indriyāni. ā€œMendicants, there are these six faculties.

Katamāni cha? What six?

Cakkhundriyaį¹ ā€¦peā€¦ manindriyaį¹. The faculties of the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind.

Yato kho, bhikkhave, ariyasāvako imesaį¹ channaį¹ indriyānaį¹ samudayaƱca atthaį¹…gamaƱca assādaƱca ādÄ«navaƱca nissaraį¹‡aƱca yathābhÅ«taį¹ pajānātiā€”A noble disciple comes to truly understand these six facultiesā€™ origin, ending, gratification, drawback, and escape.

ayaį¹ vuccati, bhikkhave, ariyasāvako sotāpanno avinipātadhammo niyato sambodhiparāyaį¹‡oā€ti. Such a noble disciple is called a stream-enterer, not liable to be reborn in the underworld, bound for awakening.ā€
