Evaį¹ me sutaį¹āSo I have heard.
ekaį¹ samayaį¹ bhagavÄ sÄvatthiyaį¹ viharati pubbakoį¹į¹hake. At one time the Buddha was staying in SÄvatthÄ« at the eastern gate.
Tatra kho bhagavÄ Äyasmantaį¹ sÄriputtaį¹ Ämantesi: Then the Buddha said to Venerable SÄriputta:
āsaddahasi tvaį¹, sÄriputtaāāSÄriputta, do you have faith that
saddhindriyaį¹ bhÄvitaį¹ bahulÄ«kataį¹ amatogadhaį¹ hoti amataparÄyaį¹aį¹ amatapariyosÄnaį¹ ā¦peā¦ paƱƱindriyaį¹ bhÄvitaį¹ bahulÄ«kataį¹ amatogadhaį¹ hoti amataparÄyaį¹aį¹ amatapariyosÄnanāti? the faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom, when developed and cultivated, culminate, finish, and end in freedom from death?ā
