Paį¹hamarukkhasutta A Tree (1st)
āSeyyathÄpi, bhikkhave, ye keci jambudÄ«pakÄ rukkhÄ, jambÅ« tesaį¹ aggamakkhÄyati; āMendicants, of all the trees in the Black Plum Tree Land, the black plum is said to be the best.
evameva kho, bhikkhave, ye keci bodhipakkhiyÄ dhammÄ, paƱƱindriyaį¹ tesaį¹ aggamakkhÄyati, yadidaį¹ābodhÄya. In the same way, the faculty of wisdom is said to be the best of the qualities on the side of awakening; that is, for becoming awakened.
Katame ca, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyÄ dhammÄ? And what are the qualities on the side of awakening?
Saddhindriyaį¹, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taį¹ bodhÄya saį¹vattati. The faculties of faith,
VÄ«riyindriyaį¹ ā¦peā¦ energy,
satindriyaį¹ ā¦ mindfulness,
samÄdhindriyaį¹ ā¦ immersion,
paƱƱindriyaį¹ bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taį¹ bodhÄya saį¹vattati. and wisdom are qualities on the side of awakening, in that they lead to becoming awakened.
SeyyathÄpi, bhikkhave, ye keci jambudÄ«pakÄ rukkhÄ, jambÅ« tesaį¹ aggamakkhÄyati; Of all the trees in the Black Plum Tree Land, the black plum is said to be the best.
