Catuttharukkhasutta A Tree (4th)
āSeyyathÄpi, bhikkhave, ye keci supaį¹į¹Änaį¹ rukkhÄ, kÅ«į¹asimbalÄ« tesaį¹ aggamakkhÄyati; āMendicants, of all the trees belonging to the phoenixes, the Red Silk-Cotton Tree is said to be the best.
evameva kho, bhikkhave, ye keci bodhipakkhiyÄ dhammÄ, paƱƱindriyaį¹ tesaį¹ aggamakkhÄyati, yadidaį¹ābodhÄya. In the same way, the faculty of wisdom is said to be the best of the qualities on the side of awakening; that is, for becoming awakened.
Katame ca, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyÄ dhammÄ? And what are the qualities on the side of awakening?
Saddhindriyaį¹, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taį¹ bodhÄya saį¹vattati ā¦peā¦ paƱƱindriyaį¹ bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taį¹ bodhÄya saį¹vattati. The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom are qualities on the side of awakening, in that they lead to awakening.
SeyyathÄpi, bhikkhave, ye keci supaį¹į¹Änaį¹ rukkhÄ, kÅ«į¹asimbalÄ« tesaį¹ aggamakkhÄyati; Of all the trees belonging to the phoenixes, the Red Silk-Cotton Tree is said to be the best.
