āSeyyathÄpi, bhikkhave, gaį¹
gÄ nadÄ« pÄcÄ«naninnÄ pÄcÄ«napoį¹Ä pÄcÄ«napabbhÄrÄ; āMendicants, the Ganges river slants, slopes, and inclines to the east.
evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu paƱcindriyÄni bhÄvento paƱcindriyÄni bahulÄ«karonto nibbÄnaninno hoti nibbÄnapoį¹o nibbÄnapabbhÄro. In the same way, a mendicant developing and cultivating the five faculties slants, slopes, and inclines to extinguishment.
KathaƱca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu paƱcindriyÄni bhÄvento paƱcindriyÄni bahulÄ«karonto nibbÄnaninno hoti nibbÄnapoį¹o nibbÄnapabbhÄro? How so?
Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu saddhindriyaį¹ bhÄveti vivekanissitaį¹ virÄganissitaį¹ nirodhanissitaį¹ vossaggapariį¹Ämiį¹, Itās when a mendicant develops the faculties of faith,
vÄ«riyindriyaį¹ ā¦peā¦ energy,
satindriyaį¹ ā¦ mindfulness,
samÄdhindriyaį¹ ā¦ immersion,
paƱƱindriyaį¹ bhÄveti vivekanissitaį¹ virÄganissitaį¹ nirodhanissitaį¹ vossaggapariį¹Ämiį¹. and wisdom, which rely on seclusion, fading away, and cessation, and ripen as letting go.
