SaddhÄbalaį¹, vÄ«riyabalaį¹, satibalaį¹, samÄdhibalaį¹, paƱƱÄbalaį¹āThe powers of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom.
imÄni kho, bhikkhave, paƱca balÄnÄ«ti. These are the five powers.
SeyyathÄpi, bhikkhave, gaį¹
gÄ nadÄ« pÄcÄ«naninnÄ pÄcÄ«napoį¹Ä pÄcÄ«napabbhÄrÄ; The Ganges river slants, slopes, and inclines to the east.
evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu paƱca balÄni bhÄvento paƱca balÄni bahulÄ«karonto nibbÄnaninno hoti nibbÄnapoį¹o nibbÄnapabbhÄro. In the same way, a mendicant who develops and cultivates the five powers slants, slopes, and inclines to extinguishment.

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu saddhÄbalaį¹ bhÄveti vivekanissitaį¹ virÄganissitaį¹ nirodhanissitaį¹ vossaggapariį¹Ämiį¹, Itās when a mendicant develops the powers of faith,
vÄ«riyabalaį¹ ā¦peā¦ energy,
satibalaį¹ ā¦ mindfulness,
samÄdhibalaį¹ ā¦ immersion,
paƱƱÄbalaį¹ bhÄveti vivekanissitaį¹ virÄganissitaį¹ nirodhanissitaį¹ vossaggapariį¹Ämiį¹. and wisdom, which rely on seclusion, fading away, and cessation, and ripen as letting go.
