Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu chandasamādhippadhānasaį¹…khārasamannāgataį¹ iddhipādaį¹ bhāveti, Itā€™s when a mendicant develops the basis of psychic power that has immersion due to enthusiasm ā€¦

vÄ«riyasamādhi ā€¦peā€¦ energy ā€¦

cittasamādhi ā€¦ mental development ā€¦

vÄ«maį¹sāsamādhippadhānasaį¹…khārasamannāgataį¹ iddhipādaį¹ bhāvetiā€”inquiry, and active effort.

ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro iddhipādā. These are the four bases of psychic power.

Imesaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, catunnaį¹ iddhipādānaį¹ bhāvitattā bahulÄ«katattā bhikkhunā dvinnaį¹ phalānaį¹ aƱƱataraį¹ phalaį¹ pāį¹­ikaį¹…khaį¹ā€”Because of developing and cultivating these four bases of psychic power, one of two results can be expected:

diį¹­į¹­heva dhamme aƱƱā, sati vā upādisese anāgāmitāā€ti. enlightenment in this very life, or if thereā€™s something left over, non-return.ā€
