Ekamantaį¹ nisinno kho āyasmā sāriputto āyasmantaį¹ anuruddhaį¹ etadavoca: Sāriputta said to Anuruddha:

ā€œasekhenāvuso anuruddha, bhikkhunā katame dhammā upasampajja vihātabbāā€ti? ā€œReverend Anuruddha, what things should a mendicant who is an adept enter and remain in?ā€

ā€œAsekhenāvuso sāriputta, bhikkhunā cattāro satipaį¹­į¹­hānā upasampajja vihātabbā. ā€œReverend Sāriputta, a mendicant who is an adept should enter and remain in the four kinds of mindfulness meditation.

Katame cattāro? What four?

Idhāvuso, bhikkhu kāye kāyānupassÄ« viharati ātāpÄ« sampajāno satimā, vineyya loke abhijjhādomanassaį¹; Itā€™s when a mendicant meditates by observing an aspect of the bodyā€”keen, aware, and mindful, rid of covetousness and displeasure for the world.

asekhenāvuso sāriputta, bhikkhunā ime cattāro satipaį¹­į¹­hānā upasampajja vihātabbāā€ti. A mendicant who is an adept should enter and remain in these four kinds of mindfulness meditation.ā€
