Kathaį¹ bhÄvito ca, bhikkhave, ÄnÄpÄnassatisamÄdhi kathaį¹ bahulÄ«kato saį¹yojanappahÄnÄya saį¹vattati ā¦ And how is immersion due to mindfulness of breathing developed and cultivated so as to lead to giving up the fetters,
anusayasamugghÄtÄya saį¹vattati ā¦ uprooting the underlying tendencies,
addhÄnapariƱƱÄya saį¹vattati ā¦ completely understanding the course of time,
ÄsavÄnaį¹ khayÄya saį¹vattati? and ending the defilements?
Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu araƱƱagato vÄ rukkhamÅ«lagato vÄ ā¦peā¦ Itās when a mendicantāgone to a wilderness, or to the root of a tree, or to an empty hutāsits down cross-legged, sets their body straight, and establishes mindfulness in front of them. ā¦
