gesu samÄdapetabbÄ, nivesetabbÄ, patiį¹į¹hÄpetabbÄ. āMendicants, those who you have sympathy for, and those worth listening toāfriends and colleagues, relatives and familyāshould be encouraged, supported, and established in the four factors of stream-entry.

SiyÄ, bhikkhave, catunnaį¹ mahÄbhÅ«tÄnaį¹ aƱƱathattaį¹āpathavÄ«dhÄtuyÄ, ÄpodhÄtuyÄ, tejodhÄtuyÄ, vÄyodhÄtuyÄāna tveva buddhe aveccappasÄdena samannÄgatassa ariyasÄvakassa siyÄ aƱƱathattaį¹. There might be change in the four principal statesāthe elements of earth, water, fire, and airābut a noble disciple with experiential confidence in the Buddha would never change.
Tatridaį¹ aƱƱathattaį¹āso vata buddhe aveccappasÄdena samannÄgato ariyasÄvako nirayaį¹ vÄ tiracchÄnayoniį¹ vÄ pettivisayaį¹ vÄ upapajjissatÄ«ātiānetaį¹ į¹hÄnaį¹ vijjati. In this context, āchangeā means that such a noble disciple will be reborn in hell, the animal realm, or the ghost realm: this is quite impossible.
