ā€œCattārome, bhikkhave, puƱƱābhisandā kusalābhisandā sukhassāhārā. ā€œMendicants, there are these four kinds of overflowing merit, overflowing goodness that nurture happiness.

Katame cattāro? What four?

Idha, bhikkhave, ariyasāvako buddhe aveccappasādena samannāgato hotiā€”Firstly, a noble disciple has experiential confidence in the Buddha ā€¦

itipi so bhagavā ā€¦peā€¦ satthā devamanussānaį¹ buddho bhagavāti.

Ayaį¹ paį¹­hamo puƱƱābhisando kusalābhisando sukhassāhāro. This is the first kind of overflowing merit, overflowing goodness that nurtures happiness.

Puna caparaį¹, bhikkhave, ariyasāvako dhamme aveccappasādena samannāgato hotiā€”Furthermore, a noble disciple has experiential confidence in the teaching ā€¦

svākkhāto bhagavatā dhammo ā€¦peā€¦ paccattaį¹ veditabbo viĆ±Ć±Å«hÄ«ti.

Ayaį¹ dutiyo puƱƱābhisando kusalābhisando sukhassāhāro. This is the second kind of overflowing merit, overflowing goodness that nurtures happiness.

Puna caparaį¹, bhikkhave, ariyasāvako saį¹…ghe aveccappasādena samannāgato hotiā€”Furthermore, a noble disciple has experiential confidence in the Saį¹…gha ā€¦

suppaį¹­ipanno bhagavato sāvakasaį¹…gho ā€¦peā€¦ anuttaraį¹ puƱƱakkhettaį¹ lokassāti.

Ayaį¹ tatiyo puƱƱābhisando kusalābhisando sukhassāhāro. This is the third kind of overflowing merit, overflowing goodness that nurtures happiness.

Puna caparaį¹, bhikkhave, ariyasāvako ariyakantehi sÄ«lehi samannāgato hoti akhaį¹‡įøehi ā€¦peā€¦ samādhisaį¹vattanikehi. Furthermore, a noble discipleā€™s ethical conduct is loved by the noble ones, unbroken, impeccable, spotless, and unmarred, liberating, praised by sensible people, not mistaken, and leading to immersion.

Ayaį¹ catuttho puƱƱābhisando kusalābhisando sukhassāhāro. This is the fourth kind of overflowing merit, overflowing goodness that nurtures happiness.

Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro puƱƱābhisandā kusalābhisandā sukhassāhārāā€ti. These are the four kinds of overflowing merit, overflowing goodness that nurture happiness.ā€
