Paį¹­hamapabbatÅ«pamasutta A Mountain (1st)

ā€œSeyyathāpi, bhikkhave, puriso himavato pabbatarājassa satta sāsapamattiyo pāsāį¹‡asakkharā upanikkhipeyya. ā€œMendicants, suppose a person was to place seven pebbles the size of mustard seeds on the Himalayas, the king of mountains.

Taį¹ kiį¹ maƱƱatha, bhikkhave, What do you think, mendicants?

katamaį¹ nu kho bahutaraį¹ā€”yā vā satta sāsapamattiyo pāsāį¹‡asakkharā upanikkhittā, ayaį¹ vā himavā pabbatarājāā€ti? Which is more: the seven pebbles the size of mustard seeds, or the Himalayas, the king of mountains?ā€

ā€œEtadeva, bhante, bahutaraį¹, yadidaį¹ā€”himavā pabbatarājā; appamattikā satta sāsapamattiyo pāsāį¹‡asakkharā upanikkhittā. ā€œSir, the Himalayas, the king of mountains, is certainly more. The seven pebbles the size of mustard seeds are tiny.

Saį¹…khampi na upenti, upanidhampi na upenti, kalabhāgampi na upenti himavantaį¹ pabbatarājānaį¹ upanidhāya satta sāsapamattiyo pāsāį¹‡asakkharā upanikkhittāā€ti. Compared to the Himalayas, they donā€™t count, thereā€™s no comparison, theyā€™re not worth a fraction.ā€
