Ime kho panÄyasmanto satta adhikaraį¹asamathÄ dhammÄ uddesaį¹ Ägacchanti. āVenerables, these seven principles for the settling of legal issues come up for recitation.
UppannuppannÄnaį¹ adhikaraį¹Änaį¹ samathÄya vÅ«pasamÄya For the settling and resolving of legal issues whenever they arise there is:
sammukhÄvinayo dÄtabbo, Resolution face-to-face to be applied;
sativinayo dÄtabbo, Resolution through recollection to be granted;
amÅ«įø·havinayo dÄtabbo, Resolution because of past insanity to be granted;
paį¹iƱƱÄya kÄretabbaį¹, Acting according to what has been admitted;
yebhuyyasikÄ, Majority decision;
tassapÄpiyasikÄ, Further penalty;
tiį¹avatthÄrakoti. Covering over as if with grass.
Uddiį¹į¹hÄ kho, Äyasmanto, satta adhikaraį¹asamathÄ dhammÄ. Venerables, the seven principles for the settling of legal issues have been recited.

ākaccittha parisuddhÄā? āAre you pure in this?ā
Dutiyampi pucchÄmiāA second time I ask,
ākaccittha parisuddhÄā? āAre you pure in this?ā
Tatiyampi pucchÄmiāA third time I ask,
ākaccittha parisuddhÄā? āAre you pure in this?ā
ParisuddhetthÄyasmanto, tasmÄ tuį¹hÄ«, evametaį¹ dhÄrayÄmÄ«ti. You are pure in this and therefore silent. Iāll remember it thus.ā
