2.15 Samathavāra How each offense is settled

Kāyasaṁsaggaṁ sādiyanapaccayā āpattiyo sattannaṁ samathānaṁ katihi samathehi sammanti? When it comes to the offenses that are a result of consenting to physical contact, through how many of the seven principles for settling legal issues are they settled?

Kāyasaṁsaggaṁ sādiyanapaccayā āpattiyo sattannaṁ samathānaṁ tÄ«hi samathehi sammanti—Through three of them:

siyā sammukhāvinayena ca paį¹­iƱƱātakaraṇena ca, siyā sammukhāvinayena ca tiṇavatthārakena ca …pe…. they may be settled by resolution face-to-face and by acting according to what has been admitted; or they may be settled by resolution face-to-face and by covering over as if with grass. …

Dadhiṁ viññāpetvā bhuñjanapaccayā āpattiyo sattannaṁ samathānaṁ katihi samathehi sammanti? When it comes to the offenses that are a result of asking for curd and then eating it, through how many of the seven principles for settling legal issues are they settled?

Dadhiṁ viƱƱāpetvā bhuƱjanapaccayā āpattiyo sattannaṁ samathānaṁ tÄ«hi samathehi sammanti—Through three of them:

siyā sammukhāvinayena ca paį¹­iƱƱātakaraṇena ca, siyā sammukhāvinayena ca tiṇavatthārakena ca. they may be settled by resolution face-to-face and by acting according to what has been admitted; or they may be settled by resolution face-to-face and by covering over as if with grass.

Samathavāro niṭṭhito sattamo. How each offense is settled, the seventh, is finished.
