Perfection

“Cha, bhikkhave, dhamme appahāya abhabbo arahattaṁ sacchikātuṁ.
“Mendicants, without giving up six things you can’t realize perfection.

Katame cha?
What six?

Thinaṁ, middhaṁ, uddhaccaṁ, kukkuccaṁ, assaddhiyaṁ, pamādaṁ—
Dullness, drowsiness, restlessness, remorse, lack of faith, and negligence.

ime kho, bhikkhave, cha dhamme appahāya abhabbo arahattaṁ sacchikātuṁ.
Without giving up these six things you can’t realize perfection.

Cha, bhikkhave, dhamme pahāya bhabbo arahattaṁ sacchikātuṁ.
After giving up six things you can realize perfection.
