The Warding Tree: a past life story
“Yo pubbe karaṇīyāni,
Whoever wishes to do afterwards
pacchā so kātumicchati;
tasks they should have done before,
Varuṇakaṭṭhabhañjova,
like the one who broke a branch off the Warding Tree,
sa pacchā manutappatī”ti.
afterwards is tormented by regrets.
