Saṇamānasutta

Whispering Murmuring

“Ṭhite majjhanhike kāle,
“In the still of high noon,
“When the noon hour sets in

sannisīvesu pakkhisu;
when the birds have settled down,
And the birds have settled down,

Saṇateva brahāraññaṁ,
the formidable jungle whispers to itself:
The mighty forest itself murmurs:

taṁ bhayaṁ paṭibhāti man”ti.
that strikes me as so scary!”
How fearful that appears to me!”
