“Cattārimāni, bhikkhave, tathāni avitathāni anaññathāni.
“Mendicants, these four things are real, not unreal, not otherwise.
Katamāni cattāri?
What four?
‘Idaṁ dukkhan’ti, bhikkhave, tathametaṁ avitathametaṁ anaññathametaṁ;
‘This is suffering’ …
‘ayaṁ dukkhasamudayo’ti tathametaṁ avitathametaṁ anaññathametaṁ;
‘This is the origin of suffering’ …
‘ayaṁ dukkhanirodho’ti tathametaṁ avitathametaṁ anaññathametaṁ;
‘This is the cessation of suffering’ …
‘ayaṁ dukkhanirodhagāminī paṭipadā’ti tathametaṁ avitathametaṁ anaññathametaṁ—
‘This is the practice that leads to the cessation of suffering’ …
imāni kho, bhikkhave, cattāri tathāni avitathāni anaññathāni.
These four things are real, not unreal, not otherwise.
Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, ‘idaṁ dukkhan’ti yogo karaṇīyo …pe… ‘ayaṁ dukkhanirodhagāminī paṭipadā’ti yogo karaṇīyo”ti.
