Bhadrā Verses of the Elder Bhadrā

“Saddhāya pabbajitvāna,
Having gone forth in faith,
“Now that you have gone forth out of faith,

bhadre bhadraratā bhava;
appreciate your blessings, Bhadrā.
Bhadrā, be devoted to goodness.

Bhāvehi kusale dhamme,
Develop skillful qualities
Cultivate wholesome qualities,

yogakkhemamanuttaran”ti.
for the sake of the supreme sanctuary from the yoke.
the utmost safety from bondage.”
