Dhammadinnā Verses of the Elder Dhammadinnā

“Chandajātā avasāyī,
One who is eager and determined
“When one’s ferverous nature has been laid down,

Manasā ca phuṭā siyā;
would be filled with awareness.
when the mind has been expanded

Kāmesu appaṭibaddhacittā,
Their mind not bound to pleasures of sense,
and is not constricted by sensual pleasures—

Uddhaṁsotāti vuccatī”ti.
they’re said to be heading upstream.
this is called going against the stream.”
