Obhāsasutta

Shining

“Cattārome, bhikkhave, obhāsā.
“Mendicants, there are four kinds of shining.

Katame cattāro?
What four?

Candobhāso, sūriyobhāso, aggobhāso, paññobhāso—
The shining of the moon, sun, fire, and wisdom.

Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro obhāsā.
These are the four kinds of shining.

Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ catunnaṁ obhāsānaṁ yadidaṁ paññobhāso”ti.
The best of these four kinds of shining is the shining of wisdom.”

Catutthaṁ.
