Things That Can’t Be Done (3rd)
“Chayimāni, bhikkhave, abhabbaṭṭhānāni.
“Mendicants, these six things can’t be done.
Katamāni cha?
What six?
Abhabbo diṭṭhisampanno puggalo mātaraṁ jīvitā voropetuṁ, abhabbo diṭṭhisampanno puggalo pitaraṁ jīvitā voropetuṁ, abhabbo diṭṭhisampanno puggalo arahantaṁ jīvitā voropetuṁ, abhabbo diṭṭhisampanno puggalo tathāgatassa duṭṭhena cittena lohitaṁ uppādetuṁ, abhabbo diṭṭhisampanno puggalo saṅghaṁ bhindituṁ, abhabbo diṭṭhisampanno puggalo aññaṁ satthāraṁ uddisituṁ.
A person accomplished in view can’t murder their mother or father or a perfected one. They can’t maliciously shed the blood of the Realized One. They can’t cause a schism in the Saṅgha. They can’t dedicate themselves to another teacher.
Imāni kho, bhikkhave, cha abhabbaṭṭhānānī”ti.
These are the six things that can’t be done.”
Dasamaṁ.
